Serve Ten Hours
Spread the love: SERVE TEN HOURS
Next, gather your Team of TEN to show some love in your local community. Set a goal of at least TEN hours of service in a year as a Team or individually if you live apart. Serve to say thanks to those bravely caring to meet the local needs of children in southern Africa.
Don’t know where to serve?
1) Consider local needs. With your team, consider taking a month to listen and write down what God is revealing to you about the needs of those around you. What opportunities to serve are being presented? Maybe it’s big or small. Just the right fit or way out of your comfort zone. Don’t discount either too fast. Consider noting what you read in the paper, hear on the news or observe at the mall. Make note of local needs in your own backyard and consider how your team can respond with the skills you have.
2) Download TEN TOGETHER’s Service Sheet (will go into your downloads folder as a PDF; may not open automatically on some computers)
3) Contact your local church (see below): At Forgotten Voices, we partner or have partnered with the following churches in the USA to equip churches in southern Africa to care for children orphaned by AIDS. But these churches are also doing amazing work locally. Consider looking for your church here and sharing your service hours with a ministry already connected to your church.
